This was the fourth year that I was honored to be the official photographer for the New Braunfels Bras for a Cause, sponsored by the Women's Council of Realtors Hill Country Chapter.
The evening gets bigger and bigger every year and last night was no exception. There were more than 750 people at the event, which sold out months ago.
Many of New Braunfels community leaders were in attendance as well as local celebrities.
The event features real life stories of women fighting breast cancer right here in our community. Each bra is sponsored by a business in honor of one of those women.
Firefighters from New Braunfels, Seguin and even Austin were on stage to model the gloriously decorated bras as attendees bid on them.
The high bid for the evening was $1,100 for the final bra of the night, in honor of Marsha Mudge, an NBISD school nurse who is currently fighting cancer.
Mudge lost her husband, a popular New Braunfels football coach, last year. She has two young sons.
But Mudge was all smiles last night as she took the stage to dance with the group of attractive firefighters as they pumped up the bidding on the bra.
The final tally isn't in yet, but the bras alone raised more than $50,000 for cancer victims. That's not counting the silent auction, ticket sales or additional donations. All the money collected goes to help women on the local level.
Thanks for letting me photograph this amazing event again ladies!
