I just love getting sneak peeks at things that are going to be big. Remember a couple of weeks ago when I showed you The Veranda in Castle Hills, where I got to be the photographer at the very first wedding?
Well I have another first to share! A few weeks ago I was the first photographer to get a peek at Gruene Estate, a brand new venue near the intersection of River and Rock roads in New Braunfels. The paint was still wet and the sod had not even been laid and was still on pallets when we arrived for Lindsay's bridal session. But the open air chapel was gorgeous and the sunset was perfect behind a pasture with a barn and windmill.
Today Lindsay and Kevin are getting married at Boulder Springs (and I'm setting this blog to publish at the moment the ceremony starts), but last night they were the first to host a celebration at Gruene Estate with their rehearsal dinner.
I can't wait for my next trip to this gorgeous location to see how it looks in its finished state. They'll host their first full wedding there in May. And I'm sure the brides will begin to flock to this place once the secret it out.

A Fairy Tale come true {New Braunfels Wedding Photography}
Right about now Mitra is marrying Shane at the beautiful Castle Avalon. She's wearing her gorgeous gown with the skirt that looks like flower petals and her long glorious train is trailing behind her. I love the long trains. They're so flowy and misty.
Mitra is a fairy artist. She has a sweet personality and a delicate presence as if she could spread her own fairy wings and fly away into a magical garden. I had a lot of fun with her session. Because she's an artist, she has an appreciation for my art as well. I love that she trusted me to do things I hadn't done before and to try some magical arts of my own.
I am absolutely in love with this first image. It shows her artistic nature and brings out the beauty of the castle as well.

A princess in her castle {New Braunfels Wedding Photography}
Photographing bridal sessions is always so much fun but it's so frustrating for me when I'm done editing because I want to share the images on my blog but I have to wait until after the groom sees the bride at the altar. Sigh.
So I have this blog set to post at about the time the wedding is over and the party is getting started. Right about now we're heading to Castle Avalon to celebrate after a beautiful church wedding. The bridals took place at the Castle just a couple of weeks ago. We don't usually like to cut it so close, but coordinating the schedules of make-up artists, brides, moms of brides, castles and photographers isn't always so easy. I was so excited that Erin had such a gorgeous gown (and Erin is pretty darn gorgeous herself). That plus a gorgeous venue made for some lovely images.

The Veranda in Castle Hills is officially open {San Antonio Wedding Photography}
When I was in the media I got a thrill out of being the first person to learn some great bit of news. I was present at some pretty big news events and loved being on the inside and getting the scoop -- and the great shots -- of history in the making. Even if that history was only important to my community. I got a little taste of that recently when I photographed a brand new venue for it's very first wedding. It was the beginning of a new adventure for the hold house in Castle Hills at 1746 Lockhill Selma.
The house itself was built in the 1920s and a lone turret in the lawn is what gave the community of Castle Hills it's name. It served as a private residence for many years and eventually became a restaurant. Today it has been totally renovated to provide glorious weddings and a gathering space for events.
They're hosting an open house from 6:30-9:30 tonight if you'd like to check it out. Or take a look at some of the images I captured that day. I look forward to many more magical nights at this beautiful home.
